The FBICRC is pleased to advise that applications are now invited for ClimateLaunchpad, the world’s biggest cleantech and green business ideas competition.

Aimed at researchers, innovators and new startups, ClimateLaunchpad aims to help aspiring entrepreneurs grow their ideas into global businesses.

Sponsoring the event for the third successive year, FBICRC CEO Shannon O’Rourke explained why the program is a good fit for his organisation’s objectives.

“There has never been a more exciting time for energy storage innovators to take ideas to market. The commercialisation of research outcomes related to batteries and battery materials is critical if Australia is to realise its share of this significant economic opportunity.

I believe the ClimateLaunchpad offers a fantastic opportunity for our researchers to hone their entrepreneurial skills and we are pleased to continue our support of the program,” said Shannon.

Run in over 50 countries worldwide, ClimateLaunchpad is responsible for more than 6,700 ideas that have resulted in the creation of more than 8,000 jobs within 1,900 new companies.

Structured as a series of pitch competitions, the program also provides intensive training and coaching led by trainers with broad international real-world experience, is free of charge and doesn’t take any equity or intellectual property from participants.

Applications for the ClimateLaunchpad program will be accepted from February 25 until April 22.
