Manufacturing cathode active materials in WA – growing expertise, employment and investment in Australia’s battery sector

Hear from Professor Peter Talbot, Professorial Fellow at QUT and FBICRC Program Leader, as he shares the results of the recent FBICRC scene setting report on the economic feasibility and supply chain requirements for lithium battery precursor manufacture in WA at industrial scale.

Peter will be joined for a panel discussion by WA Chief Scientist Professor Peter Klinken, and BHP Nickel West’s Head of Business Development and Technical Projects, Gary Frampton on what it will take to move Australia from miner to manufacturer, translating opportunity into capability and capacity.  Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia (MRIWA) Board Chair Miriam Stanborough will facilitate the panel discussion.
