The FBICIRC is delighted to partner with the WA State Government, through the Department of Communities on a key, clean-tech decarbonisation strategy to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of the State’s public housing stock.
The two organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to determine the best methods to improve access to clean energy and emission reduction technology, with the ultimate aim of providing renewable, lower cost power to benefit tenants and the broader community.
The MoU brings together the Department, local Industry and the community in a way that helps achieve mutually beneficial outcomes, and a future made in Australia.
CEO Shannon O’Rourke said the agreement has been in development over a period of months and has significant potential benefits for the community and manufacturing opportunities for local businesses. It leverages the FBICRC’s deep capability across the renewable sector and reflects the critical role that energy storage will play in Australia’s race to decarbonise.
